Erika started kayaking at the age of 8.  After her first competition, where she finished in third place, she realized that she wanted to become a professional kayaker. At the age of 18, she thought about finishing kayaking, however, after half a year, she attended training again. Not much later, she was the member of the U23 European championship team. Working together with Ferenc Csipes meant the breaktrough in her career, whom she started working with in 2016. In the following years, she collected 6 of her total 8 world champion medals. Since then, she managed to finish in the top 3 every year in the world and European championships, typically several times a year.
